Reelectionist Senator Sonny Angara is urging mayors to consider constructing public libraries in their cities or towns that can accommodate students who wish to study beyond the regular library hours.

The senator, who is running under the platform “Alagang Angara,” said that a 24/7 library with free WiFi access is extremely helpful to students who spend the late-night hours cramming, as it allows them to study when they want and when is convenient to them.

Reelectionist Senator Sonny Angara is urging the government to put in place measures that would create more jobs and increase productivity in the agriculture sector to encourage young people to venture into farming.

“Kailangan nating palakasin ang sektor ng agrikultura at palakihin ang kita ng mga magsasaka para mahikayat natin ang mga kabataan na magsaka,” said Angara, who joined the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HnP) campaign caravan in Negros Occidental, which is home to at least six universities and colleges offering various courses in agriculture.

Reelectionist Senator Sonny Angara said the government needs to dispatch immediate help to farmers who are now bearing the brunt of drought caused by El Niño to help them mitigate the negative effects of the weather phenomenon.

“The government must ensure that intervention programs reach small-scale farmers and farmworkers to help them cope with and mitigate the extreme impacts of El Niño,” Angara said.
