This law gives comfort and convenience to our kababayans abroad who often have to file a leave from work to be able to travel back and forth to the nearest Philippine embassy or consular office for passport renewal.

Dati-rati ultimong mga balikbayan box na naglalaman ng mga pamaskong sapatos, relo, tsokolate at iba pa, ay hinahalungkat para patawan ng buwis ang higit sa P10,000 ang halaga. NGAYON, naiiwasan na ang ganitong sitwasyon dahil sa ilalim ng bagong Balikbayan Box Law ay wala nang buwis na ipinapataw sa balikbayan box na nagkakahalaga ng hanggang P150,000.
 

Seafarers' Protection

Republic Act 10706 aims to prohibit ambulance chasing or the act of soliciting from seafarers the pursuit of any claim against their employers for the purpose of recovery of monetary benefit, arising from accident, illness or death, in exchange of an amount or fee which shall be deducted from the monetary claim or benefit awarded to the seafarer or their families.
